What a Private Airport Transfer Actually Includes
Quick answer
A private airport transfer means a named chauffeur, a confirmed vehicle and a price agreed before you travel. The driver tracks your flight, meets you inside arrivals, handles the luggage and drives you directly to your destination. Unlike rideshare, nothing changes if your flight lands late, and unlike a shared shuttle, the vehicle carries only your group.
People book their first private transfer without quite knowing what they have paid for. So here is exactly what happens, step by step.
Before you travel
You give us the flight number, the arrival date and your destination. In return we confirm a flat rate and a vehicle. That price then stays fixed.
Larger groups tell us luggage counts too, since six people with ski bags need a different vehicle from six people with carry-ons. Our SUVs seat up to 6 and the Ford Transit takes up to 14.
On the day you fly
We monitor your flight from departure. Consequently, an early arrival or a two hour delay both get handled without a phone call from you.
This matters more than it sounds. Rideshare cannot be booked in advance with any certainty, and shared shuttles run to a fixed timetable that does not care when your plane actually lands.
When you land
Two options exist, and they differ meaningfully.
- Meet and greet. Your chauffeur waits inside the terminal with a name board, helps with bags and walks you to the vehicle.
- Kerbside pickup. You text when you reach the pickup area and the vehicle comes to you. Slightly faster, slightly less hand-holding.
Ask which one a quote includes. Some operators charge extra for meet and greet, so the cheaper quote occasionally buys less service.
Someone is waiting when you land
Flight tracked, flat rate, meet and greet included.
What should come as standard
- Flight tracking with automatic pickup adjustment
- Help with luggage, both loading and unloading
- A clean, licensed and insured vehicle
- A background-checked professional chauffeur
- Bottled water
- Child seats where you request them
- A price that does not change afterwards
What to check before booking
Not every quote covers the same things. Therefore ask these four questions.
- Does gratuity come included or added? A 20 percent addition changes the total considerably.
- How much wait time comes free? Most operators allow 45 to 60 minutes after landing.
- Do they apply an hourly minimum? Some bill two hours for a 40 minute run.
- Does the price shift by season? Certain Denver operators surge over Christmas and in February.
We answer those four the same way every time: gratuity stays at your discretion, we track the flight rather than the clock, we apply no minimum on point to point airport transfers, and our rates never surge.
