The route runs west on I-70 through the Eisenhower Tunnel at 11,158 feet, then south on Highway 9 through Frisco. In good conditions it is a straightforward two hours. On a Saturday in January with snow on the pass and ski traffic backed up through the tunnel, it is a very different drive. We build buffer into every mountain transfer rather than quoting the best case.

A note on altitude: Breckenridge sits at 9,600 feet, one of the highest ski towns in North America. If you are flying in from sea level, the first day can hit harder than people expect. Drink water on the drive up, go easy on the first evening, and let your driver handle the road while you adjust.

It was hands down the most convenient way to attend a concert. We were picked up at our hotel and had plenty of time to tailgate prior to the show. When it was over we were picked up at the designated meeting area and driven back to our hotel in Cherry Creek. Highly recommend if you are looking for a stress free Red Rocks experience!!
